Currency¶
The Currency page defines the currency names, codes, and symbols that users can select when configuring operator and default rates. Create a currency here before expecting it to appear in a rate form.
When to use Currency¶
Use Currency when you need to:
- view available currencies;
- create a currency record;
- update a currency record;
- confirm which currency is used for rates or billing.
Understand the Currency list¶
The list shows Name, Code, Symbol, and Created date. Use search to find a currency, and switch between list and grid view if that is more convenient. The edit and delete actions only appear when your user group has the relevant permission.
Create or edit a currency¶
- Open Management.
- Select Currency.
- Select Create Currency to add a record, or select the edit icon on an existing row.
- Enter the name, code, and symbol.
- Select Create Currency or Update Currency.
- Confirm that the currency appears correctly in the list and in the required rate form.
Field guide¶
| Field | Required | What to enter | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Currency Name | Yes | The full, recognisable name. | Example: South African Rand. |
| Currency Code | Yes | The standard three-letter code. | Example: ZAR, USD, or EUR. Use uppercase consistently. |
| Currency Symbol | Yes | The symbol displayed with values. | Example: R, $, or €. A symbol is not a replacement for the currency code. |
Before editing or deleting a currency¶
Rates may already refer to the currency. Renaming a code or deleting the record can make existing configuration difficult to interpret or prevent users from selecting it later. Check Operator Rates and Default Rates, and confirm the change with the billing owner first.
If a currency does not appear in a rate form, refresh the page, confirm that it was saved, and check that you are working in the same entity context.
Warning
Currency changes can affect how billing values are displayed or interpreted.
