Operators

Operators represent mobile network operators or carrier networks used for traffic identification, reporting, and billing. An operator record brings together its identity, network ranges, and service rates.

When to use Operators

Use Operators when you need to:

• view operators;
• create or update an operator;
• manage operator IP ranges;
• review operator-specific rates.

Operators list

The Operators list shows Operator, Range Key, Offset Percentage, Created, and Updated values. Use search and filters to find an operator, or switch between list and grid view. Download Operators IP Range exports the configured mobile ranges for operational use.

The row actions open the operator for editing, show its raw stored values, or delete it. These actions appear only when your user group has permission.

Create an operator

1. Open Management.
2. Select Operators.
3. Select Add New Operators.
4. Enter the operator details and choose a brand colour.
5. Leave Active enabled if the operator should be available immediately.
6. Select Submit Operator.
7. Open the saved operator to add ranges and rates.

Field guide

Field	Required	What to enter	Notes
Name	Yes	The operator name.	Use the official or agreed operator name.
Range Key	Yes	The stable key used to identify the operator's ranges.	Keep this consistent because exports and integrations may depend on it.
Offset Percentage	Yes	The agreed percentage offset.	Enter the value supplied by the billing or network team. Confirm whether 5 means five percent in your process.
ASN	No	The operator's Autonomous System Number when known.	This can support IP range lookup; confirm it with the network owner.
Active	Yes	Whether the operator is available for use.	Deactivate only after checking dependent ranges, rates, and reports.
Brand Colour	Yes	A colour used to identify the operator visually.	Choose an accessible, recognisable colour; it does not change routing or billing.

Open an operator

Open an operator from the list to use its three tabs:

• Operator Details changes the main identity and status.
• Operator Range manages IP/CIDR ranges used to associate traffic with the operator.
• Operator Rates manages the operator's service pricing bands.

Create the operator first, then configure ranges and rates. Before deleting one, confirm that it is not referenced by rates, reports, or downstream integrations.

Operator Details tab

The Operator Details tab contains the selected operator's identity and operating state. The page heading and description show which operator you are managing. Confirm this before making changes, especially when several operators have similar names.

To update an operator:

1. Open Management → Operators.
2. Select the operator from the list.
3. Open Operator Details.
4. Change only the approved fields.
5. Review Active and Select Brand Colour.
6. Select Save all Changes.
7. Return to the list and confirm that the updated values are displayed.

Changing the Range Key can affect range exports and integrations that identify the operator by that key. Changing Active does not remove historical information, but it can affect whether the operator is available for current configuration. Confirm both changes with the network or billing owner before saving them.

Operator Range tab

Operator ranges are IP addresses or CIDR blocks associated with the selected mobile network operator. They allow traffic to be classified against the correct network, which means an incorrect, duplicate, or overlapping range can affect reporting and billing attribution.

The table shows each IP value together with its Created and Updated dates. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to review all configured ranges rather than only the first page.

Add a known range

1. Confirm the operator name at the top of the page.
2. Open Operator Range.
3. Select + Add Range.
4. Enter the verified IP address or CIDR block.
5. Submit the form.
6. Confirm that the value appears in the table.

A single host may be entered as an IP address, while a network is normally entered in CIDR notation, such as 192.0.2.0/24. Use only ranges supplied or approved by the network owner. A broader prefix covers more addresses; for example, /16 contains substantially more addresses than /24.

Look up ranges

Select + IP Range Lookup to investigate network ownership or find candidate ranges. When the operator has a verified ASN, lookup results may include CIDR blocks associated with that ASN. Treat discovered ranges as candidates and verify them before adding them, because an ASN can cover shared, international, or unrelated infrastructure.

Edit or delete a range

Use the pencil action to correct a range. Use the delete action only after confirming that the address space is no longer assigned to the operator. Before adding or changing a value, check the ranges of other operators for duplicates or overlaps.

Warning

An incorrect operator range can classify traffic against the wrong mobile network and affect usage reports, reconciliation, and billing. Record the source of the range and verify high-impact changes before saving them.
