Blacklist Management

Blacklist Management is used to block unwanted or unsafe traffic. You can manage blocked IP addresses and review rejected traffic depending on your permissions.

When to use Blacklist Management

Use Blacklist Management when you need to:

• view blocked IP addresses;
• add an IP address to a service blacklist;
• add an IP address to a global blacklist;
• review rejected traffic;
• remove a blacklist entry that is no longer needed.

Understand the two tabs

• Blacklist contains the addresses currently configured for blocking. An entry may be global or linked to one service.
• Reject List shows addresses observed in rejected traffic and provides a starting point for investigation or a new block.

The Reject List is evidence to review, not proof that an address is malicious. Confirm ownership and the reason for the rejection before creating a new blacklist entry.

Add a service blacklist entry

1. Open Traffic Management.
2. Select Blacklist Management.
3. Select the option to add a Service Blacklist entry.
4. Choose the service.
5. Enter an IP address and press Enter or a comma to add it as a chip. Repeat for additional addresses.
6. Review every chip and create the blacklist.

Field guide

Add a global blacklist entry

1. Open Blacklist Management.
2. Select the option to add a global blacklist entry.
3. Add each IP address with Enter or comma.
4. Review the wider impact and save the entry.

Global entries can affect every service covered by the blacklist feature. Use them only when the address must be blocked across the portal.

Reject list

Use the reject timestamp, address, service, and any request context available to establish whether the traffic was expected. From the reject entry, choose a service or global blacklist only after confirming the required scope.

Warning

Adding the wrong IP address can block legitimate users or systems. Confirm the address before saving.

Remove a block safely

Search for the address on the Blacklist tab, confirm whether its scope is global or service-specific, and use the delete action if permitted. Record why the block is being removed and monitor the service afterward. If an action is unavailable, ask an administrator to check your blacklist update/delete permissions.
